What is stress?

There are 3 main signs and symptoms of stress, and they all depend on whether or not your stress is acute or chronic:




  1. Physical symptoms: Muscle tension, headaches, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, changes in appetite, digestive problems, weakened immune system

  2. Emotional symptoms: Anxiety, irritability, depression, difficulty concentrating, mood swings, feeling overwhelmed

  3. Behavioral symptoms: Overeating, undereating, substance abuse, social withdrawal, neglecting responsibilities
