Hi everyone,
This blog post is inspired by a video I created and dedicated to supporting Mental Health Awareness around the world.
By developping this video, my intention was 2-folds:
1. I wanted to highlight the importance of mental health, self-care, and self-love in the journey towards our overall wellbeing. Remember, your mental health is as important as your physical health.
2. I wanted to raise awareness that Mental Health matters to everyone, not only to people who suffer from Mental Health conditions.
With or without a mental health condition, I'd like to address these messages to you personally:
You Are Worthy One of the key messages to remember is that you are worthy. You are worthy of love, happiness, and peace of mind. You are not a burden, and you are certainly not alone. Often, we find ourselves submerged in self-doubt and negative self-talk, but it's crucial to remind ourselves that we are worthy of all things positive and beautiful. Do not let any mental health struggles convince you otherwise. You Are Not Your Mental Illness Remember, you are not defined by your mental illness. It is just a part of your journey, not your identity. You are more than your struggles, and you are certainly not broken. You are a strong individual who is capable of overcoming challenges. Mental health is not a weakness; it's part of who you are. It doesn't subtract from your worth or your strength. Mental Health Is A Journey Mental health is not a destination; it's a journey. It's not about attaining perfection but making progress. It doesn't matter how small your steps are, as long as you're moving forward. It's about understanding yourself better, acknowledging your feelings, and seeking help when needed. It's about the strength in vulnerability and the courage in seeking support. Mental Health Is Like A Muscle Think of mental health as a muscle. The more you work on it, the stronger it gets. Just like how you exercise to keep your body fit, you need to take care of your mental health to keep your mind healthy. Practice self-care, indulge in activities that bring you joy, surround yourself with positivity, and don't hesitate to seek professional help if you need it. World Mental Health Day Every October 10th, the World Mental Health Day is a reminder for us all to take a step back and check in with ourselves. It's a day to spread awareness about mental health and break the stigma associated with it. It's a day to remind everyone that it's okay to talk about mental health, it's okay to seek help, and it's okay not to be okay sometimes. Self-care is not selfish; it's necessary for our mental wellbeing.
Remember, you are stronger than you think. You are not your mental illness; you are a warrior fighting your battles. Keep going, keep fighting, and keep believing in your worth because you are not alone in this journey.
Sincerely yours,
Mariam Bennouna

"Mariam has coached me for about six weeks. From the first session, she has been highly professional and helped me better understand my priorities and what I would like to achieve personally and professionally. In addition, she helped me to build a disciplinary action list to keep me motivated and help me achieve my goals. Thanks to Mariam's coaching, I am happy about what I have achieved and the awareness I developed during this short time."
