5 easy steps to embrace Mindfulness

Feeling overwhelmed by daily stress? Mindfulness might be the answer you're looking for. It's a practice that can help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings in the present moment, rather than getting caught up in worries about the future or dwelling on the past. By learning the 5 easy steps to embrace mindfulness, you will acquire a powerful technique to reduce stress efficiently on a daily basis.

In my last article, we defined what Mindfulness is by saying that it represents the practice of paying attention to the present moment, without judgment. It's about being aware of your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations without getting caught up in them.

 

The benefits of cultivating Mindfulness can be listed in 3 categories:

  1. It entails concentrating on the ''here and now'' rather than dwelling on the past or future.

  2. It teaches us to be more aware of our own thoughts and feelings without getting caught up in them.

  3. It can result in increased calmness, clarity, and focus.


Now in today's article, let's look at Mindfulness as a technique to reduce your daily stress.

If I tell you MINDFULNESS IS YOUR SOLUTION to reduce your stress, I would be lying to you.

This is because that is only half of the solution I'm bringing to the table. The other half is with you, and it's about PRACTICING IT EVERYDAY !!! EVERY SINGLE DAY, until it becomes part of your daily routine. Until you start being mindful without having to think about it ! When you arrive to that stage, I bet you, stress will become an asset not a burden.


Now that you know what the solution is, you need to learn how to use it, right ?

There are 5 very easy steps to embrace Mindfulness that you need to repeat everyday:

1. Practice gratitude,

2. Break your goals into smaller, manageable tasks,

3. Surround yourself with inspiration,

4. Recognize and reward yourself for your hard work,

5. Embrace failure as a learning opportunity


I will not stop emphasizing again and again that MINDFULNESS SHOULD BE PRACTICED EVERY SIGNLE DAY until it becomes part of your daily routine.


Once Mindfulness is acquired, it can be a powerful tool for reducing stress because it allows you to:

  • Respond instead of react because it helps you pause and take a breath in stressful situations, which allows you to choose your response rather than acting impulsively.

  • Let go of unhelpful thoughts as it can help you see them for what they are and not get swept away by them.

  • Increase self-awareness by paying attention to your body and mind, which allows you to better understand how stress affects you and take steps to manage it.
