When I was 28 and was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson disease, I wished I could find a place or a person I could turn to:
- Talk about the psychological shock to hear such a news
- Speak about the fear related to my future as a person, as a wife, as a mother and as a professional
- Find young people who had Young Onset Parkinson like me
- Understand the difficult medical terminologies of this disease
- Get clarity on how Parkinson symptoms are so unique from one diagnosed person to another
Because I only counted on my positive mindset, my faith and my research on internet, I thought I could help spare you the time, effort and energy to do all this on your own. I’ve lived with this disease for 12 years now, and I have a lead vs. you. I can surely help you answer your questions, calm your fears and frustrations. At the end of the day, no one has ever died of Parkinson. And believe me, you won’t have to do more than just managing your symptoms, if you enrich your mind with positiveness and continue enjoying life to the fullest.
Just a side note before I end this post, the logo I’ve created for Living My Parkinson website is one that tells so much:
- The roots of the tree represent also an inversed brain. Can you notice that? This is to symbolize the fact that when a person is diagnosed, the shock can be turning his life upside down.
- The green leaves represent the positive mindset that enables the diagnosed person to cope with the symptoms, and even to seek all the opportunities that can come through living with this disease.
- The name Living My Parkinson is meant to compare exactly to Living My Life. Accepting the disease and managing it with a positive mindset is all it takes to make you enjoying your life and activities normally and to the fullest.
